Technology hates me.

So as of late the two most important pieces of technology I own decided to give me the big "fuck you!"

First, my phone decided that it didn't want to have a screen anymore.  Instead I needed to blindly fumble around to try and do things on it.  AKA USELESS.  I think that started up about a month ago.  So basically I didn't have a phone for a month.

Second, I woke up one morning to a fantastic sight.  You see, recently my cat has been having flea problems.  She's normally a neurotic little thing, and the fleas have been causing her to rip out her fur.  And apparently eat it, according to the hairballs.  So one day about two or three weeks ago I got up and went to the couch to do some internetting and watch some tele.  Well.  Try to turn the computer on and can't properly move the cursor....So I turn it off.  And notice something dripping out of it.  Pull out the SD card I had in, and sure enough, it drips more.   Look around and notice, "Oh, hey.  Cat threw up on my laptop."  FUCK.

Manda's dad came by last week to try and clean it out (After the people at Best Buy were USELESS to help us find electronic cleaner.  Kept trying to sell us compressed air...)  He ended up having to take it home with him to work on.  A couple days went by and he said it was looking good.  Then the other day he called back and said the good new was he could probably save all my files.  Bad news was he probably can't save my laptop.

So now I'm pretty much in a fork out hundreds of dollars for a new laptop out of no where situation.  Haven't cried about it yet though.

The good news though is that Manda's dad also got me a temporary/possibly permanent phone.  It's an old one they used to use, a Droid X.  Still it great order, so I'm pretty happy about that.

All my files being away, though, kind of puts a damper on my using my sudden energy to post.

Oh well!  Next post is going to be a random photo dump!

Tagged.

In place of an actual entry, because I am too tired and lazy to go through and narrow down which pictures out of 7 billion I want to put up, I'm responding to Hannah's tag!

The Rules:

1. Each person must post eleven things about themselves on their blog.
2. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you plus, create eleven
questions for the people you tag to answer.
3. Choose eleven people and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. NO TAG BACKS
6. You legitimately have to tag

Eleven Things About Me

11.  I really want to learn parapara and the dances to Jpop songs.  But I'm usually too lazy when it comes down to it.

10.  In High School, Japanese was my best class.  I always had perfect grades, and was one of the top in the class.  I think I studied maybe twice in the entire four years I took it.

9.  I really like things with the folllowing items on them: card suits, butterflies, skulls, spiders, Alice in Wonderland stuff....there's more but those are main points.

8.  At one time I tried to study Swedish.  I think I got....a mini course in before I didn't have time for it anymore.  I have time now, but no motivation.  I still remember a few "I am/You are" and "I am not/You are not" sentences.  But those are basic.  Also "I am not fat.  I'm chubby."

7.  Seven is my favorite number.  End all.

6.  My moms mom came from the Netherlands.  And her dad's parents came from Lithuania.  My dad moved to America when he was 3 or something, from England.  So the only family I have in America is: My immediate family, my moms sisters family (cousins), my dads brother and sisters families (Same), and my grandparents.  And all but my grandparents live in Washington or Idaho.

5. I really enjoy drawing.  But I got months between drawing pictures.  For lack or motivation, or time.

4. I want to own a Savannah Cat.

3.  I have two older brothers, and my parents are divorced.  I lived with my mom through High School.

2.  I have three tattoos.  My grandmothers initials on my left ankle, from when I turned 18.  A red Dahlia on my right shoulder/neck, I believe from when I was 20.  And 1-12 in roman numerals around my left arm, from when I was...21?  I want more.  But need money.

1.  My real surname is Carcas.  Like the dead thing.  And all through school and even in traffic court, no one has wanted to say it for fear of offending me.  It's more offensive if you don't try to say it or say "Car...sass?"

Amy's questions:

1. What is something you want to do before you die?  I want to travel more.  I want to visit Europe and see where my family came from.

2. What things inspire you?  Music inspires me in too many ways to count.  And honestly, random things on people or personality quirks.  I really enjoy creating characters from something random that sparked the idea.

3. How would you describe yourself in three words? Neurotic.  Neutral. & Genetic.

4. If you have a free day, you are most likely to.... ?  Sleep.  Or go to Seattle.

5. Five things you always keep on your person? A rosary, my cell phone, ID, whatever charm I have at the moment, and necklace.

6. Who is your celebrity crush? Just one?  Oh no.  More than one.  Cillian Murphy.  Jamie Campbell-Bower.  Tom Hiddleston.  Matsujun.  Oguri Shun.  Toshiya. Oh, and Kyle Gallner.  Plus thirty thousand more.

7. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?  Shibuya.

8. Your favorite song at the moment? Dawn of Dreams by Yohio.

9. How do you describe your style?  Really lazy punk/rock gyaru.

10. The thing that makes you the happiest?  Really super cutesy fluffy romance things make me smile and giggle like a child.

(No question 11!)

My Questions

1. Where would you live permanently.  And where would your summer home be?
2. What type of food are you best at cooking?
3. Would you rather be deaf of blind?
4. If you had to lose your right or left hand, which would it be?
5. If you were in SAW what would your game be?
6. Favorite pop band?
7. What position would you be in a band?
8. Who is your favorite member of Arashi? (if you don't have one, just pick a member.)
9. How has your clothing style changed from when you began high school, to when you ended high school, to now?
10. Do you like cheese?
11. Do you think...you could eat...all of the ketchup...one, right after the other...?

And I tag......Well, I don't have many people to tag.  And Hannah tagged most of them already!

So....Miss Amanda Leigh.  Miss Yuki.  And...Miss Chelsie!

A short Sakura Con report.

The first weekend of April (6-8th) was 2012 Sakura Con.  This year I actually payed the money for the full weekend pass, and a hotel room for the nights. Definitely worth the money!  SO much happened!

Unfortunately I'd rather not post some of the events (don't worry, they were good!) because, honestly, the memories are just for me.  And it would just come off as some fangirl boasting for some parts.  Before your mind wanders, nothing dirty of devilish happened. It's just a whole lot of effort to post it all, and a whole lot of emotion to relive.

So the short report of it all is that I got to see Moi dix Mois perform, and got to get their autographs.  I shook Mana-sama's hand.  It was amazing.  They are so beautiful in real life, and Mana-sama is hilarious.  The Q&A session was so funny.  Mana-sama poked fun at his band a few times.  All in all it was wonderful.

I also got to see Kanon Wakeshima perform live.  She is amazing.  Her voice is even better live than on recordings.  She's also so adorable, and very modest.

Unfortunately, no photos of either act.  We weren't allowed photography at the show or Q&A.

Another highlight was visiting the Angelic Pretty/Atelier Pierrot booth, and meeting the super sweet super awesome shop girls who worked there.

Aki, Me, Amanda Leigh, Hannah, and Mayo.

Aki, Me, Manda, Mayo, and Natsuki!!

We even got to go out to dinner with them the last night.  An expensive bill for conveyor Sushi and alcohol.  But SO worth it!  We're planning a trip down to California to go visit them.  After Tokyo, of course.  We're thinking of December, at the moment.  Though Aki may come visit sooner!

Me, Aki, Yuki Yoshida, and Hannah
The last day, while running around, Hannah and I also ran into Yuki Yoshida.  She's a local artist, one of Manda's favorites, and apparently a fan of Hannah's blog!  We chatted and took a snap before running off on our ways.

And lastly!  I met h.Naoto!!  It was AMAZING.  The cherry on top of the whole amazing wonderful fantastic weekend.

There was a fashion show, and I ended up (after a very stressful time making sure I got it) purchasing one of the pieces from the show.  A gorgeous gold dress.  One of a kind.  And h.Naoto himself told me he liked it and that it looked good.  (It's the one in the photo above.)

Naoto-san and Myself.
A lot happened over the weekend.  I got to spend time with my friend Shelby (I'll upload photos later from that!) and Adolfo.  So much crazy happened!

I will admit.  I had a breakdown on day two.  It was too much to handle.  I cried in a sushi shop.  It happend about three more times in the next few days.  It was just so much I had dreamed of since I started listening to Jrock.  Meeting Mana was just so surreal.

It was possibly the best weekend of my life.

En Salon & Seattle (Picture heavy)

A month or so ago HannahAmanda Leigh and I made an appointment at a random Japanese salon Hannah had found in Bellevue called En Salon.  None of us had been there before but we decided hey why not! So Hannah called in an appointment  for all three of us to get our nails done.  Which I'd never done before.  Plus it was gel and the other two had done acrylic only.  All in all a new experience.

So weeks passed, and finally the day showed up.  Amanda and I got up early (after I had closed at work, and a restless night of little sleep!) and caught the bus down to Seattle.  A convenient little straight shot from right outside our apartment complex right down into downtown Seattle.  For only $4.50.  Pretty amazing.  Anyhow! We caught the bus and ended up talking with our friend Jack who happened to be on the bus too. Good times were had.  We chatted and laughed about how Jack had to use the restroom a fourth of the way through the ride.  Like I said, good times.

Hour or so later we ended up at Westlake Center (A shopping center.) The main area was open, but not many of the shops.  Hilariously, for us at least (Not Jack.), the restrooms were closed too.  So he had to run around and try to find one.  While we were waiting for him I spotted a delicious looking Crepe shop.  Which wasn't open.  And had no sign for when it would be. So depressing.  Eventually Hannah showed up and we made a little adventure to find Jack's bus connection.  It took a bit more time than we expected, but we found it then headed off to Starbucks so Hannah could get her coffee fix.
